Luísa Cortes, PhD (female), is the head of the Microscopy Imaging Center of Coimbra (MICC), since 2007. Luísa has been involved in the implementation of new imaging methodology and imaging analysis protocols at CNC, which is well reflected in the number of collaborative publications in the last years (h-index – 13). She is the Centro Polo coordinator of the Portuguese Platform of BioImaging, integrated in the national RI roadmap, and a Euro-BioImaging stakeholder.




Area of Research: 

My main research interests are imaging approaches, based on microscopy, to study of the molecular mechanisms involved in neurodegenerative disorders.
