Ana Rita Alvaro has a degree in Biology in 2003 from the Faculty of Science and Technology, University of Coimbra. Then, received a FCT grant to develop her PhD project under the scientific supervision of Claudia Cavadas and Francisco Ambrósio, at CNC - Center for Neuroscience and Cell Biology, University of Coimbra. In 2008, she obtained her PhD degree in Cell and Molecular Biology, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Coimbra.
Between 2009 and 2010, Ana Rita Alvaro had a post-doctoral fellowship funded by FCT, at CNC.
 Between 2010 and 2014, she was invited assistant professor at the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro (UTAD).
Since 2014, Ana Rita Alvaro is post-doc researcher at CNC.

Neuropeptide Y (NPY); aging; hypothalamus; circadian rythm.
