Education: 

In 2002 have got B.Sc. in Biochemistry at the University of Coimbra. In 2007 have got PhD degree studying the role of the neurotrophin BDNF on ionotropic glutamate receptors in hippocampal neurons, at the University of Coimbra. PhD was performed  in collaboration with University of Michigan, EUA. In 2007, started a Post-doctoral project, investigating changes in the ubiquitin-proteasome system under excitotoxic conditions at CNC. In 2008 and from 2011 to 2013 was invited assistent professor at the Life Sciences Department at the University of Coimbra. In 2013 integrated the CNC Microscopy Unit as a post-doctoral fellow.
