UC researcher distinguished with international award
Premio Peca 2020

João Peça, a researcher at the Center for Neuroscience and Cell Biology of the University of Coimbra (CNC-UC), was. Distinguished with the “IBRO 2020 Early Career Award”, awarded by the International Brain Research Organization (IBRO).

This international call organized by IBRO is aimed to support and promote early career researchers. 

For João Peça, also a Professor at the Life Sciences Department (DCV) at the Faculty of Sciences and Technology of the University of Coimbra (FCTUC), this five thousand euro award represents “on one hand, the recognition of the work we have been developing at my research group. On the other hand, it also reflects the potential there is to develop competitive and high quality science in our country”, adding that “the associated value for this prize will be applied to support our research on autism and neurodevelopment disorders”.
